RateThatBeach ("we", "our", or "us") operates the RateThatBeach mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Anonymous Identifier

When you first launch the App, Firebase Authentication assigns you a randomly generated anonymous user ID. This ID is not linked to your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information.

Ratings You Submit

When you rate a beach, we store your anonymous user ID alongside the beach identifier and the numeric rating (1–5). We also record a timestamp and a daily rating counter (to enforce the 20-rating-per-day limit).

Map Usage Data

Geographic coordinates of the map viewport are sent to Google Places API to discover beaches in the area. We do not log or store these coordinates on our servers.

Advertising

We use Google AdMob to display ads. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data subject to Google's own privacy policy. We request non-personalized ads by default.

Crash and Performance Data

We may collect anonymous crash reports and performance metrics via Firebase to improve stability.
